15 years ago REPEL was formulated out of the sheer desperation to save horses from West Nile Virus and African Horse sickness.

After nearly losing a special imported mare from West Nile Virus in 2007, it became apparent that there were no products commercially available which were able to completely protect horses from insect bites and yet be completely safe for use on them.

A specialist team of highly skilled professionals where recruited to carry out a systematic investigation into formulations for horses which would kill/ repel midges, mosquitoes,  ticks, horse flies BEFORE they bite.

Thereby preventing diseases such as:

• WEST NILE VIRUS

• AFRICAN HORSE SICKNESS

• BILIARY

After a substantial amount of research, the perfect formulation was created and we started using it to protect our horses from disease.

The results were remarkable and so we started helping friends, and fellow riders by offering the product to them. Some of the product made its way to various stable yards and before long the word got out and calls for the product were being received from all over the country.

Realizing that this product could save thousands of horses, we decided to make it commercially available so that everyone had the opportunity of giving their beloved horse a fighting chance against deadly disease.

 

To date, clients using REPEL have not had a horse fatality as a result of African Horse Sickness.
